This is the Insurgent Radio Kiosk for Monday, October 2nd
It’s today’s Action Calendar!
All are invited to a free panel discussion titled, “ Water is Life – Stories of Grassroots Activism from El Salvador to the United States” , tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Central Library, 201 West Mifflin Street. The event is presented as part of the Madison Arcatao Sister City Project. Panelists will include Cintia Gonzalez and Zulma Tobar from El Salvador; Madison Alder Rebecca Kemble and UW-Eau Claire Professor Al Gedicks. The Progressive Magazine’s Norm Stockwell will moderate. Phone 266-6300 for information.
Come share an evening of absurdity with two nationally-syndicated cartoonists: Leigh Rubin, the creator of the comic strip “Rubes,” and Wisconsin State Journal editorial cartoonist Phil Hands, tonight from 7 to 8 p.m. also at the Central Library, 201 West Mifflin Street. This odd couple will riff on each others’ cartoons and show how the twisted minds of two very different cartoonists work. Door prizes will be raffled to unlucky winners. For information, phone 266-6300.
