Washington Post journalist and author Amy Goldstein will discuss her book “Janesville-An American Story” today at 2:30 p.m. in Room D1630 at Madison College’s Truax Campus, 1701 Wright Street. The book offers an account of the fallout from the closing of the General Motors assembly plant in Janesville and of the a larger story of the hollowing of the American middle class. The LGBTQ+ Senior Alliance presents its annual fall social featuring the Susan Hofer Jazz Band tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Madison Senior Center, 330 West Mifflin Street. In addition to the evening’s musical offering, a catered meal is served at 6 p.m. Pre-registration isn’t required, but a donation of whatever is affordable would be appreciated. The Alliance is a collaboration between OutReach and the Madison Senior Center. Their goal is to provide a safe place for older adults and friends to gather and socialize.
