Join instructors from Sector 67’s All Hands On program and learn the basics of metal-working on Saturday, September 23rd for 2 to 3 p.m. at the Sequoya Library, 4340 Tokay Boulevard. Tinker with metal-working hand tools to make your own interactive Gizmo in the Sector’s mobile Hack-In-The-Box Maker Space. Strap on your safety glasses and learn the basics of filing, sawing and drilling metal. Come prepared to work through those tinkering challenges! Ages 8 and up. Enjoy a free, family-friendly nature outing in UW’s Lakeshore Preserve, 2002 University Bay, on Sunday, September 24th from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Led by tree expert Sean Gere and Eagle Heights Gardens manager, Will Waller, learn how Wisconsin’s native trees and shrubs grow and how to prune them. W-O-R-T is looking for two weekly volunteer receptionists. The first opening is for Wednesdays from 12 to 2 p.m. The second opening is for Fridays from 8 a.m to noon.We also need a number of fill-in receptionists who have some availability on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. AND who have email access.
