This is the Insurgent Radio Kiosk for Thursday, January 9th
Are you angry about racial inequality? Do you just FEEL BAD about racism and seem to be stuck?
Madison’s Grace Episcopal Church offers a series of 4 two-hour workshops where you can share your feelings and frustrations, and learn practical strategies to help yourself and your community. We will talk about how racism is learned and how it grows. Come share with others in a safe space, challenge yourself, and practice reactions to real-life incidents.
Using current books and articles, we will guide discussions to help you move from confession to transformation. We provide printed materials for future reading.
Workshops and a light lunch are free, but we gladly accept donations.
The first workshop is January 19 from 11:45 am to 1:30 pm, followed by 3 more workshops in February and March. We are located right on the Capitol Square, 116 West Washington Avenue.
See the Grace Episcopal website, gracechurchmadison.org under Outreach, and click on “When the Diagnosis Is Racism,” or visit our Facebook page. Call 255-5147 for more information.
The kiosk brings you commentaries from members of the public. All opinions expressed are those of the speakers. Have an idea for your own two-minute commentary? Go to wortfm.org/kioskcommentary.

Are you a local news junkie? Put it to good use by joining the WORT news team as a reporter. WORT’s 6 p.m. news broadcast needs volunteers to report stories of local interest. No journalism experience needed. WORT will provide training. The ideal candidate will be open-minded, curious, meticulous and a bulldog about nailing the facts. Being comfortable working on deadline is also critical. Shifts are available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from approximately 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, call the station at 256-2001 and ask for Interim News Director Chali (SHAH-lee) Pittman.
The Insurgent Radio Kiosk welcomes your commentaries on subjects of interest to the W.O.R.T. listening community. Commentaries are limited to two minutes. If you’d like to do a Kiosk commentary, visit wortfm.org/kioskcommentary.
