In 2012, Kohl’s Corp. received a whopping $62.5 million tax credit package from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation earmarked for job creation and the construction of a new headquarters. Three years later, Kohl’s is headquartered out of its new building, but has struggled to meet its required jobs quota, landing at just 15 percent of their projected 3,000 newly created jobs. Dee Hall, Managing Editor of the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism, shared with us some of what she dug up while reporting her newest story for the Center.
