Last week, the emotional testimonies of Christine Blasey Ford and Brett Kavanaugh in front of the U.S Senate’s judiciary committee captured the nation’s attention.
Ford says Kavanaugh and a friend tried to rape her at a high school gathering in the ’80s. Kavanaugh denies those claims. Now, the FBI is investigating the case ahead of a committee vote on whether or not to confirm Kavanaugh for a life term on the country’s highest court.
WORT producer Nina Kravinsky spoke with UW Professor Emeritus Cecilia Ford, who studies the differences in the way men and women speak. She put the very different tones of Kavanaugh’s and Ford’s testimonies into context.
There’s no relationship between the two Dr. Fords.
