Vice President Kamala Harris was in Milwaukee yesterday to emphasize the need to replace lead pipes in the city and across the nation. While Madison replaced its lead pipes years ago, Milwaukee still has more than 70,000, out of the roughly 170,000 in place around the state.
To learn more about the issue, WORT producer Nate Wegehaupt spoke with Robert Penner, a member of Get the Lead Out, a coalition of citizens fighting to remove lead pipe infrastructure in Wisconsin’s largest city.
