District 15 is on Madison’s east side. It’s been represented by David Ahrens since 2013 and isn’t seeking reelection.
The district includes Atwood from Olbrich down to Monona, as well Stoughton Road from East Washington to Monona. It also includes most of Highway 30.
Three candidates are vying to fill Ahren’s open seat. The top two vote-getters will advance to the general election in April.
Grant Foster is on the board of the Eastmorland Community Association and president of Madison Bikes. He’s also spent three years on the city’s Pedestrian, Bicycle, Motor Vehicle Commission and Long Range Transportation Planning Committee. He wants to focus on transportation and sustainability as an alder.

Angela Jenkins is the president of the Lake Edge Neighborhood Association and a board member of the Olbrich Botanical Society. She wants to use her background as an immigrant to bring equity issues to the forefront on city council.

The primary race is on Feb. 19. Along with District 15, Districts 3, 12 and 13 will also have primaries.
