Sixteen year old Swedish climate activist Greta Thurnberg gained international attention when she lambasted the world’s CEOs for their inaction on climate change at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Since then, Thurnberg has used her new-found fame to call on her cohorts around the world to join in a one-day climate strike on March 15, 2019. Thousands of students around the world have pledged to heed Thurnberg’s call, including a contingent here in the Madison area who are organizing the Wisconsin Youth Climate Strike. Joining us for an interview is Max Prestigiacomo, a senior at Middleton High School and WYCS State Lead Organizer, Ella Roach, WYCS state communications lead and Isabella Spitznagle, WYCS Madison lead organizer.
The worldwide Youth Strike for Climate Justice takes place on March 15th. For more information on the Wisconsin climate strike, Wisconsin Youth Strike for Climate Justice via e-mail or Facebook.
