Dig deep into the Madison Public Library’s website, and you’ll find order forms for some items you might not expect to find at a library. Popsicle sticks with velcro dots. Maple hardwood planks. Silkscreening materials. Tiny little robots. Catapults. These are some of the ingredients the Library’s Bubbler crew have put together in packets called “Maker Kits.” They’re normally available — at cost — to schools, educators and others working with children. Now, though, thanks to a grant from the Madison Community Foundation, Maker Kits will be making the rounds, for free, to neighborhood community centers across Dane County. Carlee Latimer, from the Madison Library’s Bubbler project and Chong Thao, program staff for the Bayview Foundation joined Monday Buzz host Brian Standing on September 11, 2017.
