Marisabel Cabrera doesn’t face a Republican challenger in this November’s election, so she’s set to represent the Milwaukee-area District 9 in the state Assembly.
Cabrera defeated state Rep. Josh Zepnik in the Democratic primary last week. Multiple women have accused Zepnik of kissing them without their consent at Democratic Party events.
The relatively high turnout primary has many Democrats anticipating a “blue wave” during the midterm elections this fall. State Department of Public Instruction leader Tony Evers beat seven other Democrats in the gubernatorial primary, and will face Republican Governor Scott Walker in November.
WORT producer Nina Kravinsky spoke with Cabrera about her victory and about what to watch for as November draws nearer.
