Today, we shine a light on workers for our special May Day show, guest hosted by Norman Stockwell from The Progressive.
First up, Armando Ibarra from UW–Madison’s School for Workers offers live updates from the Voces de la Frontera press conference at the Capitol about the “Two Days Without Latinxs and Immigrants” strike.
Next, Joe Evica from CUNA Mutual Group and OPEIU Local 39 talks about the importance of pensions and retirement.
Then, we wrap up the show with Kai Rasmussen from Madison Area Democratic Socialists of America discussing the latest in labor organizing, including unionization efforts at Starbucks, Amazon, and among gig workers.
The song played at the beginning and end of the show is “Lucy Parsons” by Allen Schwartz. You can learn more about Lucy Parsons at the Zinn Education Project.
