Back in April, the Hermits Peak and Calf Canyon Fires merged to become a massive “megafire” that blazed across 534 square miles of New Mexico’s Southern Rocky Mountain front.
Today on the show, Thursday host Allen Ruff probes into what this fire tells us about where the Southwest, the nation, and the planet are headed as the climate crisis intensifies with guest William deBuys, who recently wrote an article titled “New Mexico’s Megafires Mark a Turning Point.”
William deBuys is a writer, environmentalist, and conservationist. His most recent book is The Trail to Kanjiroba: Rediscovering Earth in an Age of Loss (Seven Stories Press, 2021).
