MADISON (WORT) — While many were preparing for the Thanksgiving holiday, the Public Service Commission approved utility rate increases for Madison Gas & Electric customers. On Wednesday, the state commission okayed MGE’s proposal to raise monthly services and to reduce incentives for clean energy investments. The plan put forth by MGE received vocal opposition from local municipalities, green energy proponents, and many members of the public. Dylan Brogan reports.
