It is usually pretty safe to say that during a midterm election, the party of the president does poorly. However, yesterday democrats did better than expected. On today’s show we are unpacking what happened here in Wisconsin and in other notable races with two political science professors.
First we go through what happened in Wisconsin with UW-La Crosse’s Anthony Chergosky. Then we look at races across the nation with Marquette’s Julia Azari.
Anthony Chergosky is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at UW-La Crosse. There he teaches on subjects including American government and politics, political parties, campaigns and elections, and Wisconsin government. His
Julia Azari is Professor in the Department of Political Science at Marquette University. Her research and teaching interests include the American presidency, American political parties, the politics of the American state, and qualitative research methods. She has written for The Mischiefs of Faction, Washington Post’s Monkey Cage blog, and Politico.
