The Natural Step Monona announces an Urban Foraging and Gleaning Field Trip and Tour this Thursday, led by Ronnie Hess and Janet Parker of Madison Fruits and Nuts. Learn basic rules and helpful hints about gleaning. Also, learn about advocating for more fruits and nuts on public lands, helping ensure food security, and better health for our community. This field trip can be made by bike or by car. It’s Thursday, August 14th from 5:30 to 7pm at West High School, 30 Ash Street. To reserve a spot, you must sign up. Evening Meals on Wheels needs volunteers to deliver hot, nutritious meals to older and differently abled people. Locations are flexible and the time commitment is about one hour per shift. For details call 276-7598.
