An eight-week Radical Wellness Series begins in January. “Radical Wellness” involves recognizing that well being is deeply intertwined with the health of the community, and impacted by the surrounding oppressive systems. The series takes a seasonal approach, finding inspiration for deep reflection that winter offers, using storytelling and art to move forward into 2015 with a sense of joy and possibility. It will be held Sundays from 10am to noon beginning January 4th and running thru February 22nd. Cost for this series is a sliding scale donation, and scholarships are available. For more info, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tomorrow is the Portage Memory Cafe, hosted by the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin. A Memory Café is a social gathering place for persons with memory loss, mild cognitive impairment, early Alzheimer’s or other dementia, and their family and friends. This is tomorrow from 1 to 3pm at the Portage Public Library, 253 West Edgewater Street in Portage. For more info, and to find other Memory Cafe’s in the area, visit alzwisc.org.
