Freshmen in Madison-area high schools have more difficulty with Algebra One than any other class. And those who don’t pass Algebra One by 10th grade are half as likely to ever complete high school. Achievement Connections focuses on providing Algebra One students with a tutoring volunteer who will meet with them at least two hours per week throughout the spring semester. Volunteers will tutor at one of four area high schools: Madison West, Madison East, Memorial, or Middleton. Comprehensive training will be provided on-site to volunteers, and an algebra competency test is required of all tutors. For more details and to apply, call Jason at 608-263-2432.
