Morning Buzz host Jonathan Zarov interviews Madison area actor, director and musician, and frequent performer/collaborator at Forward Theater Company, Jake Penner.
Forward Theater has been exploring new territory with their production choices this season, and Mr. Burns is no different. “This play is like nothing we’ve done before,” said FTC’s Artistic Director, Jennifer Uphoff Gray. “And even though The Simpsons is a theme, it’s about so much more. It is truly an homage to storytelling, and culture’s role in it. It’s an examination of who we are as a people, how we would cope when the unthinkable happened, and what we would retain as a society when that time came. It’s about the survivors.”
The production features an all-Wisconsin cast, including Marcus Truschinski, Michael Herold, Georgina McKee, Jake Penner, Marti Gobel, Elyse Edelman, Rana Roman and Jennifer Hedstrom.
This post-apocalyptic thrill ride will be presented in the Playhouse at Overture Center, April 7th – 24th, 2016.
Tickets are now on sale. They may be purchased online at OvertureCenter.org, in person at Overture Center’s ticket office, or by calling (608) 258-4141.
