Up and down State Street, and throughout downtown, artists and creators have used plywood boards covering storefronts as canvases for their work. The boards were erected after widespread vandalism and theft struck downtown last Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, following protests against police brutality.

Producer Jonah Chester also got the backstory with those who are organizing the mural projects. Karin Wolf is the Arts Program Administrator for the City of Madison, and Tiffany Kenny is Executive Director of Madison’s Central Business Improvement District.
After speaking with Wolf and Kenny, Jonah also spoke with the artists to discuss their work and the role that art plays in discussions on racial justice.
