In 2017, the Madison Police Department launched the Madison Addiction Recovery Initiative (MARI). Aimed at combating Madison’s ongoing opioid epidemic, the program offers addiction recovery treatment for those arrested for nonviolent, drug-related crimes.
As part of the program, the city partnered with researchers at UW-Madison. Now, that UW research group has released their findings on the program’s efficacy.
