According to the Race to Equity report, African Americans in Dane County are worse off than whites in every way measurable: greater rates of poverty and unemployment, higher arrest and incarceration rates, higher suspension and truancy rates, lower test scores, higher rates of infant mortality. Many local residents were shocked to learn that Dane County rates worse than most places around the US.
