On the Friday, July 19th 8 O’Clock Buzz Jonathan Zarov is joined by author Jay Antani, to discuss his new book “The Leaving of Things”. This book, written as a Ph.D. project by film critic Antani, reflects the cultural shift of a man who grew up in America and then moved back to India with his family.

Alejandro Pumbra of the 7-man Spanish rock-and-roll band Los Chechos joined host Tony Castaneda on the 8 O’Clock Buzz to play a sample of his music and promote his band’s upcoming show at the High Noon Saloon beginning at 6 pm.
Wisconsin Is Getting Fracked
Over the past two years, frac sand mining in Wisconsin has exploded – growing by 160% between 2011 and 2012 alone. PK Hammel of Madison Action for Mining Alternatives joined Tony Casteneda on the Thursday 8 O’Clock Buzz to discuss the the effects of fracking on communities and action to stop it.
Fair Housing Council
Laurel Bastian of the Fair Housing Council joined Jan Miyasaki on the 8 O’Clock Buzz to discuss the work of the Fair Housing Center of Greater Madison and the work they do to eliminate discrimination in housing. In her words, they seek to ensure that “nothing comes between an individual and the housing that they qualify for” and that there are racially and economically integrated housing patterns across Madison and Dane County.
