A bait and tackle shop on Northport Drive has served the fishing community for decades. Along with an array of equipment, the proprietors of D&S Bait and Tackle have also provided in-depth local fishing knowledge to anglers, youth outreach, and weekly fishing reports (find those here, or call 608-BIG-FISH).
First opened in 1981 by Debbie and Steve Pappas — that would be the “D&S” in the name — the business has been owned by Gene and Sandy Dellinger since 1991. Now, Gene and Sandy have sold the shop to new owners Patrick and Ashley Hasburgh.
On this edition of the Friday 8 O’Clock Buzz, news director Chali Pittman spoke with Patrick Hasburgh about the past, present and future of the shop. He’s been fishing his entire life and has been a Northsider for 15 years. He plans to be behind the counter at D&S on most days.
