Many Labor radio listeners have heard about a possible strike in mid-September by nurses at UW Hospital. Labor Radio asked the nurses to comment. In response SEIU said that they would have no statement at this time, and that no decisions have been made by the nurses as to their future course of action. The nurses’ union anticipates a public announcement after the nurses meet- sometime later in the month of August. The nurses have repeatedly asked the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics board to voluntarily recognize their union, as they could do even under Act 10. UW Hospitals have refused to do so most recently in a meeting with nurses three days ago.
Labor Radio will keep you informed as developments occur.
