Wisconsin’s wolf hunt earlier this year drew national criticism. Non-Native hunters killed 216 wolves, far exceeding their quota and wiping out twenty percent of the state’s wolf population in three days.
For this show, Monday host Patty Peltekos spends the hour with Joe Brown, director of the documentary film Operation Wolf Patrol, which follows the story of eco-activist Rod Coronado and his efforts to end wolf hunting in the U.S.
They talk about filming wildlife, bear baiting, Wisconsin’s hunter harassment laws, the DNR, and the role of wolves in the environment.
Joe Brown is a documentary filmmaker and assistant professor of media, film & journalism studies at the University of Denver.
