Lady Parts Justice, co-founded by former Daily Show head writer Lizz Winstead, has adopted a philosophy of attacking male chauvinism in politics through, in their words “humor and outrage.” This Saturday, Lady Parts Justice is sponsoring a series of parties across the country, dubbed “From V to Shining V,” designed to rally the feminist troops, shake the roof with laughter and bring the patriarchy to its knees. Madison’s own edition takes place at the venerable Genna’s Lounge on the Capitol Square. The event will feature musician Freedy Johnston, slam poet Syreeta McFadden, and comedian Sapna Kumar. Last, but certainly not least, the Madison event also features Milwaukee native and UW-Madison alum, Joan Walsh, editor at large and columnist at Salon. Joan Walsh joined the Buzz on September 22 to preview Saturday’s party.
