Wisconsin Congressman James Sensenbrenner (R-Menomonee Falls) is pushing to reign in some of the surveillance power authorized by the USA Patriot Act of 2001. He says the National Security Agency’s broad surveillance of Americans’ phone calls goes far beyond the intent of the counterterrorism legislation, a law he wrote and then championed for over a decade.
Executive Director of the Center for Media and Democracy Lisa Graves says Sensenbrenner just introduced a bipartisan bill that will ban—at least temporarily—the bulk collection of Americans’ phone records. Craig McComb reports.
