You’ll be the hit of the party, the salsa will be gone almost before it was made, and everyone will be begging for more. Best of all, if you have more of the ingredients it takes all of 5 minutes to chop up some more. Here is how you make this freshest and most delicious of salsas.
5 diced tomatoes
¼-½ finely diced onion
2 garlic cloves, finely diced
1 jalapeño pepper, finely diced
1 serrano pepper, finely diced
bunch of cilantro, chopped
juice from 1-2 limes
salt to taste
Dice up the tomatoes, onions, garlic, peppers, avocado, and cilantro and add them to the bowl that you’ll serve them in as you go. Attention, this makes a spicy salsa, so you like something on the milder side I’d recommend omitting the Serrano pepper. If you want more heat you can always add in more peppers.
Slice the limes in half and squeeze the juice into the bowl. Sprinkle with salt, and stir together until combined. Be sure to taste the pico de gallo and adjust the seasonings, adding salt, lime or diced peppers if needed.
The salsa will produce liquid as it sits longer. Feel free to drain the water off before serving if you like a chunkier mixture. Serve with chips, quesadillas, or meat from the grill.
