Thank you so much for supporting WORT during our Winter Fundraising Drive! Thanks to you, we achieved our goal. We had hoped that by April 15 things would be back to normal and you could visit and pick up your gift(s).
Unfortunately, it is still not safe for our listeners, staff, or volunteers to reopen the station. So we have come up with a plan for donors to pick up pledge drive thank you gifts in as safe a way as possible.
Governor Evers issued Executive Order #28, Safer at Home Emergency Order, on April 16, 2020, with requirements related to pickup from businesses or non-profits. The following procedures comply with the requirements of this Emergency Order.
1) If you indicated that you wanted your thank you gift shipped when you pledged, we will ship it within 48 hours of receiving your donation.
If you chose to pick up your thank you gift and you would now like it mailed there are two options to have it shipped to you.
One, you can pay actual mailing costs online at wortfm.org/donate, using your credit card or PayPal. Please indicate in the comments section that you are paying shipping costs for your Winter Pledge thank you gift and you’ve provided a correct address, including apartment or condo number.
Two, you can mail us a check to cover shipping costs. Please include a message that the money is to be used to mail your thank you gift, as well as an address to send it to. Some of the addresses in our database are old! Make your check out to WORT and mail to: WORT, ATTN: Pledge, 118 S Bedford St, Madison WI, 53703.
Shipping costs: $3 per bandana, CD, or straw set; $5 per book, hat, or headphones; $8 per backpack or hoodie. We do not mail mugs, pint glasses, LPs, or pigeons. If your thank you gift isn’t covered in this list, please contact Susan at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
2) If you would like to pickup your thank you gift, we must receive your donation in advance of pickup. This is per Wisconsin Emergency Order Section 14 (e), “Goods must be purchased online, by phone, or by mail before pick-up.” Per this directive we cannot accept your donation at the door.
Because mail from South Central Wisconsin now goes to Milwaukee to be sorted and then returned to us, please allow one week for us to receive your mailed donation.
Email us at email@example.com or call 608-321-9579 at least 24 hours before picking up your gift so that we can pull your thank you gift & pledge card and have everything ready to go when you arrive. Our volunteers are working safely from home; our small staff is engineering, reporting, and editing shows, making it very difficult to handle requests from donors who stop by without notice.
Pickup times are Monday through Friday, 12—6 PM, until the station reopens. To maintain social distancing, please call Susan or Karen when you arrive at the station at 608-321-9579. If you don’t have a cell phone or don’t receive an answer when you call, please press the white buzzer. Then wait on the sidewalk, and let the staff member who comes to the door know your name and that you are here to pick up your thank you gift. Staff will place your gift in the box outside the door. Please wait until the door closes to pickup your gift.
We miss seeing you and we miss your voice at the station. We understand the above measures are necessary to ensure the health and safety of our donors and staff. That such times make us unable to welcome you to the station and express how very grateful we are for your support saddens us.
