It’s one of the major questions of this generation: how can we solve the problem of global warming? For today’s show, we focus on the collaborative solutions offered by Project Drawdown, a climate initiative focused on reaching “Drawdown”—the point in the future when we’ll finally see greenhouse gas levels start to decline.
We’re joined by lawyer, former mayor, journalist, and environmental scientist Crystal Chissell to talk about Project Drawdown’s mission, the Green New Deal, and the importance of collective action in reversing climate change and creating a sustainable, equitable future.
Crystal Chissell is senior director of partnerships at Project Drawdown. Previously, she was a practicing attorney, advising the City of Baltimore and the Maryland Environmental Service. From 2003 to 2006, she served as mayor of Highland Beach, Maryland. Crystal holds degrees in law, environmental science, business, and journalism.
Crystal Chissell is the keynote speaker at this year’s Sustain Dane Summit, themed “Decade to Deliver” and taking place this Thursday, December 3 online. More information on the summit can be found here.
