Race have become a huge issue for Madison and it needs to be discussed for us to come to solutions as a community. So where should we start?
On Tuesday November 5th, our host Carousel Bayrd spoke with Kaleem Caire, CEO of Urban League of Greater Madison about the history of the Urban League and the race in the Madison area.
Despite Madison being a more liberal community, racial disparities are bad in Dane County. So just how bad are they? Caire told us about the history of racial disparities and what has changed over time and what trends have tended to stay the same.
“All we are seeing here through our Urban League, with me here, is a reclaiming of what are intended purpose has been. Move people forward. We are not in the business of keeping people stuck.”- Kaleem Carie on the Urban League in Madison, WI
