This week on Radio Astronomy, Jacqueline Goldstein and Zach Pace discuss the Arecibo Telescope. The Telescope which has been featured in many books and films, but it has a rich history in science, it determined Mercury’s rotation period, found the crab pulsar, and made the first direct image of an asteroid. However over the years as the funding for the NSF decreased the telescope’s future is now uncertain.
