How can we ensure that our elected representatives are voted in by a popular majority? One idea that has been getting increased attention lately is to implement ranked-choice voting, an election method that allows voters to rank candidates in order of choice.
Ranked-choice voting is “a simple change with a big impact,” says Drew Penrose, legal and policy director at FairVote. He and substitute host Bert Zipperer spend the hour discussing the merits of ranked-choice voting along with other election issues including voter access, ballot design, the electoral college, and campaign season.
