This week Ray Davies of the Kinks is once again “Top of the Pops” with his new album “Americana,” recorded with members of the Jayhawks as his backing band. A great new collaboration between the legendary Taj Mahal and the renowned Keb’ Mo’ has quickly found its way onto many WORT playlists. Ice T has had enough and comes roaring back with his band Body Count for a timely new release called “No Lives Matter,” also found on our Loud Rock/Metal chart. Aimee Mann just performed at the Barrymore, singing new songs from her starkly honest “Mental Illness” album. And the ever-prolific Willie Nelson is “God’s Problem Child,” his first album of original, all country-oriented music in a while.
New adds sure to make a splash in the near future include a collection of music from the popular animated series “Bob’s Burgers;” Blondie has reunited for a new album titled “Pollinator;” another long-awaited reunion culminates in Boss Hog’s “Brood X,” and Latin rock pioneers Ozomatli are going “Non-Stop” with their new release.
