Geologists at the University of Wisconsin have discovered what may prove to be the Rosetta Stone of earthquake studies. UW-Madison postdoctoral student Randy Williams and his advisor, Laurel Goodwin, have used veins of calcite in rocks from New Mexico to produce a record of historic earthquakes stretching back 400,000 years. Randy Williams and Laurel Williams join Eight O’Clock Buzz host Brian Standing in the studio.
