We’re jumping for joy! WORT earned $1,202 in net proceeds during four short hours at our first all-vinyl “Record Riot” sale on Saturday, March 21st –not to mention what a GREAT time everyone had!! Record geeks of all stripes found bargains galore in dollar bins, and snatched up valuable copies of pristine vinyl spanning across the musical genres. Many thanks to Aaron Scholz, Music Assistant for doing the main organizing along with Bob Koch. Thanks also to our hard-working volunteers including Cardinal Din, Bad Sister Heidi, Rev. Velveteen, Rick Streed, Eric Schinker and Devin Grant, and kudos to our DJs: Paul Novak, Dave Leucinger, Jenni Ladd and Dave 3000, whose sweet vinyl picks kept us spinning throughout the afternoon. We appreciate all the fantastic vendors who displayed their wondrous wares and helped to promote our event, boost sales and increase total revenue. Extra special thanks to WORT’s Business Development & Events Coordinator Doug Holtz for working the checkout, MadCity Music Exchange for providing record boxes and the High Noon Saloon for hosting our event.
Everyone’s been asking, and yes….we’re already talking about having another “Riot Redux” in the fall. So stay tuned for news of that event and remember, when you’re thinning your collection, moving or just feeling generous, you can donate your vinyl to WORT and one way or another, we’ll turn it into “gold.”
