The independent newspaper News from Indian Country, founded in 1986 by Paul DeMain of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin, ran its last issue published by Indian Country Communications back in August. Today on the show, guest host Rebecca Kemble speaks with master storyteller Paul DeMain about insights from his forty-year career as a journalist and what he has seen, heard, experienced, and reported on in Indian Country.
Paul DeMain is managing editor and CEO of Indian Country Communications and producer for Indian Country TV. He is a member of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin and of Ojibwe descent. From 1982 to 1986, he served as the Indian Affairs Policy Advisor under Governor Anthony S. Earl.
