Imagine living in a world, where all the people around you — authorities, politicians, neighbors, even trusted friends and colleagues — one by one inexplicably metamorphose into unthinking, violent and wildly dangerous beasts. If that metaphor strikes a little close to home these days, it’s an indication that a revival of Eugene Ionesco’s groundbreaking 1959 play “Rhinoceros” would be shall we say…. well-timed.
Stroller’s Theater has exactly such a timely revival in mind, and will present Ionesco’s masterpiece of absurdist theater this Friday, November 3rd through November 18th at Madison’s Bartell Theater. Director Katherine Johnson joins Eight O’Clock Buzz host Brian Standing in the studio.
