Avra Reddy says she became politically activated as a 4th grader watching late-night talk shows with her father. Now an undergraduate student at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Avra was recently elected to represent District 8 on Madison’s city council. At nineteen years old, she’s the youngest alder currently serving.
Today on the show, Ali spends the hour with Avra talking about what it means to serve as an elected official as a teenager. Together, they highlight the priorities of the rising generation, including gender equality, environmental justice and sustainability, public transportation, and affordable housing.
