Madison’s fourth alder district, containing the capital square and a large chunk of downtown, has been represented by the same alder since 1995, and hasn’t seen a primary election since 1997.
But that all changes this year, as three candidates are running in February’s primary to represent the district.
We continue our coverage of the District 4 Alder primary election with Samantha Givich, a student at UW Madison.
Givich is running on a platform of addressing the housing crisis in a way that would benefit both Madison residents and developers alike, and sustaining the district’s small businesses.
