Aaron Perry talks with author Chris Tomlinson about the descendants of his former slave owning family and what he is doing to find their heritage both before being his families. Tomlinson considers the former slaves and all of their descendants family members referring to them simply as “The black Thompsons”. Chris actively seeks to “learn the truth” about his African American family members. He spent 11 years in Africa as the Nairobi bureau chief for the Associated Press.
