On Wednesday May 29th, our host Tim Hansel interviewed Jonathan Martin, professor and chair of the University of Wisconsin Madison’s Atmospheric and Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences department, about severe weather and more specifically the tornadoes that devastated Moore, Oklahoma. Martin talked about the dangers of an EF-5 tornado, like the one that hit Moore, OK recently. In addition, Martin cleared up some of the myths about where tornadoes can occur. Tim Hansel also discussed with Martin the issues concerning advance warning systems and where to go when you need to seek shelter from a tornado or severe storm.
