Tune in to a special “show Lady P some love” edition of The Dusties Storm on WORT this Saturday morning (8:00 till 10:00 a.m.). Host Lady P will be taking financial pledges and offering thank-you gifts to listener-sponsors.
This “bonus track” to the 2016 Summer Pledge Drive will allow Lady P’s loyal fans to support WORT one more time. Due to feeling under the weather, the longtime radio host and community activist was unable to spin her records here last week. But she vows to make up for that absence by turning The Dusties Storm into a fun musical fundraiser on June 18th.
Lady P will offer WORT supporters such groovy thank-you gifts as:

- Diana Ross in concert at the Overture Center tickets;
- A birthday party package for the Warner Park Community Recreation Center;
- CDs by Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, James Brown, Booker T & the MGs, and Gladys Knight & the Pips;
- “Do It Live” double (vinyl!) album by Minneapolis-based neo-soulsters Sonny Knight & the Lakers; plus
- WORT mugs, flying discs & rucksacks.
Peaches Lacey, aka Lady P, has dedicated herself to creating a stronger community by helping others. I first met her in 1991 when she was an AIDS-prevention educator. Despite struggling with osteoarthritis, she hauls her heavy records to the studios of WORT 89.9 FM Community Radio every Saturday morning, so as not to disappoint her many fans.

On The Dusties Storm Lady P plays R & B, blues and soul music from the 1950s till today, featuring such artists as Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin and Sugar Pie DeSanto. She has served as a WORT volunteer since April 1997.
Show her your appreciation by making an offering to WORT on June 18th, during a two-hour mini pledge drive. Pledge-rapping with Lady P on The Dusties Storm this Saturday morning will be WORT Volunteer Coordinator and all-around sweetheart Glenn Mitroff.
