Last week, a rare October tornado touched down for 10 minutes on Madison’s east side. Although classified as a relatively weak EFF 0 cyclone, the twister still managed to wipe out a car repair shop and damaged several buildings in its brief and unseasonable run.
University of Wisconsin researcher Leigh Orf studies and models this tornado’s big brothers, the large, deadly EFF 5 cyclones and the supercell storms that produce them. Leigh Orf joins Eight O’Clock Buzz host Brian Standing in the studio.
