In December of 2017, the OIR Consultant Group released its long-awaited, policy and procedure review of the Madison Police Department. The city council commissioned the audit in the wake of a wave of police shooting incidents, which resulted in the deaths of Tony Robinson, Ashley DiPiazza, Michael Schumacher and Paulie Heenan.
The audit report included 146 specific recommendations. As it has now been nearly six months since that report came out, we thought we’d check in with the Madison Police Department to see how many of those 146 recommendations they’ve ticked off their list.
Joining Eight O’Clock Buzz host Brian Standing in the studio is Madison Police Department Assistant Chief Vic Wahl.
