Between 2000 and 2010, Dane County’s Latino population more than doubled. Latinos now account for 28 percent of the total population of the Town of Madison, and 17 percent of the City of Fitchburg. Alfonso Morales is a professor at the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and he’s here to tell us about a new online tool from the UW’s Applied Population Laboratory that lets you track changes in Spanish-speaking demographics by community across the state.
