Today, Patty Peltekos focuses on the Women, Food and Agriculture Network. WFAN is having its annual conference in Madison this week, from Thursday, November 2nd to Saturday, November 4th at the Sheraton Madison Hotel. The theme this year is “1997 – 2017: Rooted in History, Growing for the Future.”
Patty speaks with Bridget Holcomb, Executive Director of WFAN, as well as food justice activist LaDonna Sanders-Redmond, who will be delivering the keynote speech at this year’s conference on Friday, November 3rd. Sanders-Redmond is a community activist who worked to change the food systems of the Chicago Public Schools. She is the founder of the Campaign for Food Justice Now, and author of the upcoming book I don’t live in a food desert and neither do you.
