Todd Ambs talks with Kelly about the impact of the Special Session on science in Wisconsin. This extraordinary act of the Legislature, intended to reduce the power of incoming Governor Tony Evers, promises to hogtie the DNR in beuracratic red tape costing taxpayers money and slowing the critical work of state scientists.
For more than 35 years, Ambs has worked in the environmental policy field. From 2010 until becoming Director of Healing Our Waters in July, 2013, Ambs was President of the national conservation group River Network. Prior to that, he ran the Water Division for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for nearly a decade (2003-2010).
Wisconsin’s Greenfire has written extensively about the impacts of these bills. Check out their analysis here.
