Dib is a Canadian university economist, researcher, and author, and he specializes on the social, political, and historical context of Lebanon, the Arab World, and the Gulf Region.
In the second half of the show, Esty speaks with Louisiana-based activist and scientist Wilma Subra. Subra’s a former MacArthur Fellow and chemist with the Louisiana Environmental Action Network. On this week’s anniversary of the Deepwater Horizon spill, and yesterday’s oil explosion in Superior, Wisconsin, they discuss the ramifications and lasting effects of oil spills and similar disasters.
